This paper is focused on the analysis and comparison of the effect of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) among Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) in Olomoucký region (Czech). Aim of this paper is to research whether the FDI and international activities of SMEs have impact on SMEs from the perspectives of performance, measured by the traditional performance measures such as Return on Equity (ROE), Financial Leverage, and perspective of employment, measured by number of employees as there are papers, which states that SME are important for the GDP or GNP and employment. Data from the period 2012 – 2018 have been collected and analyzed. The findings suggest that there is no significant impact of FDI on the performance, financial position or change in financial position (measured by ROE, Financial Leverage, and Cash flow) and that there is the significant impact on employment, thus confirming the significance of SMEs for employment.
