Policy paper „Terrorism and Activism of the Baloch Ethnic Group“
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The paper describes the efforts of the Baloch ethnic group to resist the Iranian and Pakistani governments to assert their rights and freedoms. Some members of the Baloch society choose the path of terrorist attacks on the civilian population and infrastructure of both countries. Others decide to protest and achieve their goals through political activism. The Baloch are also fighting for their livelihoods, as the living conditions of the Baloch are deplorable in both Iran and Pakistan. However, in contrast, the mineral wealth of Balochistan’s territory in both countries provides a lot of strategic resources. Even though Iranian Baloch and Pakistani Baloch are separated only by national borders, their cultures have differed significantly over the years. While among the Pakistani Baloch, women are at the forefront of society, the Iranian Baloch community, on the other hand, is very patriarchal and religious, as the society is ruled by clerics.
