Chapter offers a summary of the changing political status of Mongolian women. Focusing on evolution of women's political representation after the breakdown of Mongolian non-democratic regime in 1990, this chapter shows that the rise in the representation of women in politics occurred after the introduction of women's quota in 2012. It argues that the success of quota was a result of the long-term effort and networking process among formerly polarizing actors and the effective politicization of women's issue. Finally, Mongolia shows that outside the Western developed countries, electoral system plays a less important role in promoting women's access to power, in contrast to other factors such as women quotas.
