Jan Faktor ist ein tschechisch-deutscher Schriftsteller und Übersetzer, der 1951 in Prag geboren wurde und 1978 nach seiner Heirat mit Annette Simon, der Tochter von Christa Wolf, nach Ost-Berlin übersiedelte. Der Umzug zog einen literarischen Sprachwechsel nach sich. Faktors Werke greifen u. a. Themen wie Heimat, Fremde, Außenseitertum, Identität und Holocaust auf. Der vorliegende Beitrag geht u. a. mit Hilfe der theoretischen Ansätze des &quot;spatial turn&quot; (Bachmann-Medick 2006) der Frage nach, welche literarischen Räume auf welche Weise in seinem ersten Roman &quot;Schonstein&quot; (2005) konstruiert werden, wie sie sich verändern und welche Funktionen sie dabei erfüllen. Dabei umfasst die Analyse der literarischen Räume sowohl die &apos;konkreten erzählten Räume&apos; (Frank 2017), schließt aber die metaphorische Verwendung des Begriffes &apos;Raum&apos; nicht aus.

Jan Faktor is a Czech-German writer and translator who was born in Prague in 1951 and moved to East Berlin in 1978 following his marriage to Annette Simon, the daughter of Christa Wolf. The move resulted in a literary language change. Factor&apos;s works address issues such as migration, homeland, foreigners, outsiders, identity and the Holocaust. Using the theoretical approaches of the &quot;spatial turn&quot; (Bachmann-Medick 2006), the present article examines the question of which literary spaces are constructed in which way in his first novel &quot;Schornstein&quot; (2005), how they change and which functions they fulfill. The analysis of literary spaces includes both the &apos;concrete narrated spaces&apos; (Frank 2017), but does not exclude the metaphorical use of the term &apos;space&apos;.
