Výstava na 15 tematických bannerech přibližuje nejpodstatnější události z vývoje let 1938-1946 na území dnešního Ústeckého kraje s důrazem na oblast, která byla součástí Říšské župy Sudety. Mimo vzniku a charakteristiky sudetské župy se autor věnuje otázkám každodennosti, životu na hranici mezi župou, resp. nacistickým Německem a Protektorátem Čechy a Morava, válečným zajatcům, problematice odporu a odboje, nebo vzniku a existenci pobočných koncentračních táborů. Důraz klade na poslední válečný rok, kdy se župa stala terčem spojeneckých náletů a prožila exodus statisíců uprchlíků z východních částí hroutící se Říše, ale přesto deklarovala odhodlání bojovat až do samotného konce. Poslední bannery jsou věnovány osvobození, následnému období tzv. &quot;divokého odsunu&quot; a záležitostem organizovaného odsunu sudetských Němců a osidlování pohraničí. Autor ke svému záměru podat ucelený obraz tohoto nelehkého a dynamického období využil řadu dobových fotografií a archivních dokumentů, z nichž mnohé byly prezentovány vůbec poprvé.

The exhibition presents 15 topical banners to introducing the crucial events in the history of 1938- 1946 in the Ústí nad Labem (Aussig) region, focusing on the area that used to belong to the administrative unit of the Reichsgau Sudetenland. Aside from the origin and characteristics of the administrative unit, the author discusses the issues of everyday experience, life on the border between the Reichsgau - i.e. Nazi Germany - and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, the issues of prisoners of war, resistance or the emergence and existence of concentration subcamps. It focuses primarily on the final year of the war, when the Reichsgau became the target of Allied air strikes and experienced an exodus of hundreds of thousands of refugees from the Eastern part of the Reich, but nonetheless declared its willto fight until the very end. The final banners are dedicated to the liberation from the Nazi occupation, the subsequent period of &quot;wild&quot; expulsion and the issues of the organized expulsion of the Sudeten Germans and the new settlement in the borderland region. In order to provide a rich and layered account of this difficult and dynamic period of time, the author used many photographs and archival documents, which were thus presented for the first time.
