Der Beitrag stellt sich die Frage, inwiefern der österreichische Autor tschechischer Herkunft Stanislav Struhar als Vertreter der Umbruchsgeneration 1989 angesehen werden kann. Am Biespiel seiner Gedichttrilogie "Stará zahrada/ Der alte Garten" wird nachgezeichnet, wie der politische Umbruch 1989 mit seiner Biographie einhergeht und versucht, sowohl die persönliche Erfahrung des Autors mit der Emigration 1988, als auch mit dem anschließenden vorübergehenden Verlust seines Sohnes in dessen literarischem Schaffen zu rekonstruieren und zugleich als Neuanfang des Autors in einem neuen Land in einer neuen Sprache zu gestalten.

The study poses the question of the extent to which the Austrian author of Czech origin Stanislav Struhar can be regarded as a representative of the upheaval generation of 1989. Using his trilogy of poems "Stará zahrada/ The Old Garden" as an example, it traces how the political upheaval of 1989 is linked to his biography and attempts to reconstruct both the author's personal experience of emigration in 1988 and the subsequent temporary loss of his son in his literary work, while at the same time framing it as a new beginning for the author in a new country in a new language.
