Various Perspectives on the ?War on Gender?: A Thematic Collection
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The aim of the thematic collection was to focus on the demand side of the micro-level perspective of the global political phenomenon known as an anti-gender movement. We argue that its ideology is a signal of broader social crises beyond the issues of gender equality. However, weclaim that the existing body of literature does not adequately engage with the perspectives of feminist and pro-gender advocates. Consequently, it overlooks the nuanced dynamics between these positions, neglecting significant aspects of contemporary feminist politics, including its institutionalisation, NGOisation, and the power dynamics of global capitalism. The articles published in the collection bring diverse perspectives from various local contexts (Kazakhstan, Italy, Poland) as well as each of the contribution focuses on a different aspect of the phenomenon, including supporters of the movement's arguments and feminist activists who are targets of the movement's discourses and politics.
