The research is directed to investigate the influence of various heat treatment parameters on the mechanical properties of Al-Si alloy. Cast on which research is carried out are used in the automotive industry as segments of molds for tires pressing. By the manufacturer of the castings there is demand for options to lower the temperature and the time of each heat treatment operations. Adjustment of these parameters could result in significant savings of energy costs associated with the heat treatment of castings. The paper describes experiments aimed at assessing the impact of the reduction temperatures and shorter times of each heat treatment operation in relation to the mechanical properties of the AlSi10CuMnNi alloy. Investigating the mechanical properties was carried out by measuring the hardness, microhardness and static tensile test (with an emphasis on maximum mechanical properties). The result of the research was to find the optimal heat treatment parameters.
