Spinning activity of spiders Trogloneta granulum Simon (Araneae, Mysmenidae)
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The spider species Trogloneta granulum, living in the wild inside scree slopes, build three-dimensional orb webs. With the exception of the central part, all threads are covered with dropelts of viscid secretion. During prey, the species does not exhibitwrapping. behaviour. During egg sac building, the females keep to the central part, suspended with their backs down. In this process, the hub is used as a platform, i.e. similarly as in the case of araneids. The threads of the hub are not incorporated in the silk cover of the egg sac. The silk wall of the egg sac is very thin, with all the spidroin threads constituting in having a uniform ultrastructure. The reduction in the number of piriform glands finds expression in the formation of very simple attachment discs. The thread bundles are attached to the substratum by means of accumulated attachment discs. Egg sacs are handled using draglines.
