The Role of Microregions in the Regional Development

The paper analyses microregions in the Czech Republic as an example of a partnership within municipalities. Recent development and activities of microregions are examples of the practical application of current theoretical approaches in the regional development. These theories are a part of endogenic regional policy, therefore the formation and work of micro-regions is seen as positive feature. Transformation measures within public funding in the EU countries enhance the effeciency of public sector andcentralised local governments. Microregions are to play this role in the Czech Republic and are considered a pre-integration of local governments, particularly in country areas of the Czech Republic.
