This booklet is an English summary from the same book that presents a new systemic method of monetary valuation of ecosystem functions and services in the Czech Republic. The authors refuse the standard preferential approaches to revealing the economic value of ecosystem services, as they highly undervalue the reality. Instead, they came from the real synergies of solar energy fluxes, evoked water cycles and vegetation and quantified four selected services of Czech ecosystems (retaining biodiversity, oxygen production, climatizing services and sustaining water inside ecosystem), estimating them by replacement costs. Comparing the annual values of these four nation-wide services, they came to the fifty-fold of the annual Czech GDP. The booklet describesmain reasons for current unsustainability, gives an overview of existing valuation methods and presents main quantitative results of Biotope Valuation Method (BVM) and Energy-Water-Vegetation Method (EWVM), as applied in the Czech Republ
