Road network development analysis in areas affected by open-pit mining
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The human activity is changing the surrounding landscape in many ways - the landscape structure is changed by intensive agriculture, heavy industry or huge water dam constructions. In the region of the North-West Bohemia (the Czech Republic) the open-pitmining is changing the complete landscape structure within the brown-coal basin. The open-pit mining technology is used from the late 1930' and is affecting extremely large areas in this region. The growth of the mines influences not only the land-use,hydrology network structure and the settlement distribution but as well the road network. The open-pit mines are interrupting the natural road connectivity in-between the neighboring towns that has been established centuries ago. The aim of this paper isto introduce the road-network development analysis based on historical and current data. This analysis is based on digitized road network derived from several old maps and contemporary data. The created network is analyzed in the GIS env
