Actualisé par Václav Havel, le concept de " vie dans la vérité " vient de la tradition philosophique en tant que discipline. Fondée par les penseurs antiques conçue et pratiquée dans l'idée d'améliorer la vie, elle est présente dans la tradition philosophique tcheque: la philosophie réaliste de Jan Hus (Explication du Credo, des Dix-Commandements et du Notre-Pere, 1412) et du mouvement hussite, oú le motif de la vérité apparaît tant dans les textes que dans la liturgie (Cantionnaire de Jistebná, environ 1420) est retravaillée dans la seconde moitié du XIXe siécle par Tomáš G. Masaryk (par exemple Jan Hus, la renaissance et la réforme tcheques, 1896, Les idéaux d'humanité, 1901), dont les idées pes?rent sur la conception politique concréte de la République tchécoslovaque. Issue d'une réaction au caractére théorique de la philosophie, elle aboutit á une tendance vers le pragmatisme, qui inclut une dimension existentielle : la philosophie est ainsi conçue comme art de la vie.

Updated by Václav Havel*, the concept of "life in truth" comes from the philosophical tradition as a discipline. Founded by ancient thinkers and conceived and practiced with the idea of improving life, it is present in the Czech philosophical tradition: the realist philosophy of Jan Hus (Explanation of the Creed, the Ten Commandments and the Lord's Prayer, 1412) and of the Hussite movement, where the motif of truth appears both in texts and in the liturgy (Jistebná Cantionary, about 1420), is reworked in the second half of the 19th century by Tomáš G. Masaryk in the second half of the 19th century (e.g. Jan Hus, Czech Renaissance and Reform, 1896, The Ideals of Humanity, 1901), whose ideas influenced the concrete political conception of the Czechoslovak Republic. The result was a reaction to the theoretical character of philosophy, which led to a tendency towards pragmatism, which included an existential dimension: philosophy was thus conceived as an art of life,
