Preparation and Combustion of High Sulphur Content Coal Briquettes with Biomass and Wastes

In CR the widest share of electric energy is made by coal combustion. It is accompanied by emissions of carbon dioxide, sulphur oxides and others. The issue of emission pollution during combustion of duff coal is dealt with by a combustion product desulphurization, or modernization of combustion facilities onto fluidized bed technologies, which comply with emission limits. In the past, the technology of addition, which is successfully made use of mainly with duff coal ranks, was tested also for graded coal. However, the reached efficiency of desulphurization was very low. New trends in the production of fuel for boilers should combine amounts of brown coal, biomass and some wastes. Incorporating a desulphurizing additive into the coal mixture and reshaping it into the briquette there will be a new type additived fuel, which can be combusted under optimum conditions. The objective was to verify a potential production of new ecological fuel types on brown coal, biomass and wastes base.
