The utilisation of fly ash must be searched for because of its current production. One possibility of the use is at old mines liquidation, where the ash can be used as a consolidated filling material. The consolidated filling material consisting of conventional fly ashes consolidated by a hydraulic binding material is transported to a pit in a suitable slurry consistency which ensures the strength for definite pit sections up to 5 MPa. Common requirements on physico-mechanical qualities are the pressurestrength 2 ? 5 MPa after 28 days.Brown Coal Research Institute has been concerned with the development of the materials and tested various binders so as the consolidated filling material fulfilled technical requirements. Various types of fly ash were tested. The goal of the work is to verify the possibility of using the fly ashes at mines reclamation.
