Comparison of Young Offender Drivers with Young Non-problematic Drivers
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The study aims to identify whether there are differences in selected personal characteristics between young offender drivers (who lost their driving license) and young non-problematic drivers (who still have their driving license). This paper focuses on the differences in the area of self-esteem, emotional attachment to peers and attribution style. The research was conducted in 198 persons, out of which 103 were young offender drivers and 95 non-problematic drivers. Significant differences between groups of young offenders and non-problematic drivers were discovered in all measured areas. Young offender drivers, as opposed to young non-problematic drivers, score statistically lower values in the area of self-esteem and peer communication: concurrently, these drivers demonstrate statistically lower values in the area of self-esteem and in the area of alienation from their peers. At the same time, young offender drivers attribute externally, as opposed to non-problematic drivers.
