Agriculture has considerably contributed to reconcile the social situation during the entire transformation process (the effect of low prices for produce on the inflation level, amongst others). The expected growth of prices of agriculture production (connected with the Czech Republic joining the EU and with the improvement of economic situation of many agriculture enterprises) will create the chance till the end of this decade for a part-way adjustment of wage level which dropped significantly in the first half of the nineties.
