This paper constitutes a summary of currently available information related to family life found in literature focused on the integration of both individuals and communities. It consider the notion of community, the relationship between the notions of community and family, differing family patterns according to the respective foreign community as well as the fact that information on each community differs widely according to the source. The key findings on family life with respect to the Vietnamese, Chinese, Russian and Ukrainian communities are outlined as well as situation of Greeks and Greek-ethnic Macedonians, Bulgarians, Croats, Serbs, Yugoslav-ethnic Macedonians and immigrants from Bosnia-Herzegovina. Attention is also devoted to the families ofpersons returning to the Czech Republic.
