The publication provides a description of labour cost development in terms of volume and structure in the Czech Republic in the period 2000 ? 2008. The text deals separately with development up to 2003 and with that following the accession of the Czech Republic to the EU. The authors outline the risks associated with such development in connection with the social and economic relationships inherent in the determination of unit labour costs and the labour's share in costs.
