Illegal Employment in the Czech Republic
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Labour market is one of the most administered economic areas. The reason is given by the commodity that is being marketed – peoples free time, their knowledge, skills and experiences. This led the governmental institutions to create a legislative framework to oversee and secure people’s rights. The law defines rights and responsibilities shared among employers and employees. The competitive nature and business pressure forces firms to solve their problems of survival using illegal forms of employment. This phenomena can be traced back to early 1990s. The analysis of the scope of the illegal employment in the Czech Republic is based on most recent data available from the year 2013 that were acquired by the Czech Statistical Office, the State Labour Inspection and the Labour Office. In the analysis we used data from diverse institutions that are also based on different methodology. That is the reason why the amount of illegal employment has to be conceived as an approximation, because each institution perceives this problem differently, from economic or legal perspective.
