Corrosion problems of nuclear power plant components represent an important factor both in the field of operational safety and in the plant life extension strategies. In the case of steam generators, where the purity of feed water of operated units is approaching to the theoretical values of pure water main attention is focused to critical localities of occluded volumes with heat flux. In these discrete areas, relatively rapid concentration process of trace impurities present in feed water takes place.As a result, high local concentrations exist providing thus appropriate conditions for the initiation of corrosion cracking of austenitic stainless steel components. Localities threatened by corrosion under this mechanism (structural crevices tube ? collector (tube sheet), tube ? tube support plate, crevices under deposits on the free span of tubes) are during operation of steam generators completely inaccessible and the nature of crevice environment can be considered only on the basis o
