Determination of antimicrobial activity of textile fabrics treated with encapsulated nanodispersion biocidal systems. 4 th International Conference and Exhibition on Materials Science & Engineering
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Thermoreactive polymeric dispersion "Contasol 4924 EN" with encapsulated antimicrobial components was applied on a textile fabric determined for bed linen. Encapsulation provides a method for reducing the concentration of antimicrobial used in products and its leaching into the environment. The mechanical and physical parameters of untreated and finished fabric were determined and the antibacterial effect was tested on unwashed and washed samples of the fabric inoculated with two different concentrations of bacteria. Furthermore, the survival of the bakteria Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus was tested on untreated, treated, and treated and washed samples of the fabric. The finishing of the fabric by "Contasol 4924 EN" hasn?t any negative influence on mechanical parameters of the fabric. These results are very positive because the evaluated parameters are crucial for end-use applications. The fabric treated with "Contasol 4924 EN" showed antibacterial activity increasing with
