As part of an international research and development project that it realized with TAČR DELTA program support, by research organizations VÚTS, a.s. Liberec and South Asian TTRI (Taiwan Textile Research Institute), it was designed and realized prototype of unique air-jet weaving machine DIFA, intended for fully automatized industrial production of distance fabrics, high and variable distances in range 120 up to 500 millimeters together with ensuring structural properties and high quality of fabric, in addition, with the possibility of fluently adjusted distance of fabric during weaving process. Input material is chosen high-tenacity polyester fibers (multifilament) in range of fineness 150 up to 1000 denier. Introduce this new technology of distance fabric production is the goal of this paper and the final part is focused on presumed potential application.
