Selected Economic Approaches in Valuation of Human Health

Economic valuation of human health is the core of investments optimisation into human health and safe environment. The solution of line between public health and occupational health and safety raises new issues within managemet of private as well as public sector. The base of such an optimisation is more or less modified Cost-Benefit Analysis in which is the quantification and valuation of demages on human health subject of many discussions. The selected issues will be considered from three different perspectives: societal, employer?s and individual. There will be introduced examples of theoretical weaknesses and analysis of practical problems connected with application of selected approaches. The aim of this paper is to bring proposals through which should be possible to solve the economic quantification of human health within the specific institutional and cultural environment of the Czech Republic.
