Critical View on the Contribution of Endogenous Growth Theory

The theory of endogenous growth is the current theory which tries to explain the factors to determine the long-term economic growth. The representatives of this school analyzed Solow growth model and suggested models of economic growth which endogenize the rate of technical progress and the savings rate particularly investments. These models assume long-term effects on production function revenues. Technological progress is understood as accumulation of human capital and scientific and technological knowledge and the authors assume it arises from an intentional investment in above mentioned. Currently the saving rate and investment rate lead to maximizing the consumption.
