A PRELIMINARY RESEARCH: THE INVOLVEMENT OF BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE METHODS IN SELECTED COMPANIES
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
In the recent era of a highly competitive environment, business intelligence (BI) tools have become one of the last opportunities to gain a market advantage. This paper aims to map the utilization rate of BI methods and subsequent involvement in decision-making processes. Just after the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic, we can now consider the act of quickly making the right decisions as one of the most critical aspects of our being. More or less sophisticated tools based on business intelligence techniques are available to most companies. The focus of the preliminary research using the questionnaire survey was their subsequent involvement in the decision-making processes in selected companies or departments. When the decision should be made promptly and correctly, respondents using BI tools in practice are aware of the high potential of applying these methods to facilitate the whole decision-making process. This study examines the role of BI according to a specific job-level as well. Surprisingly, the expected difference in the regular use of BI between managers and specialists was not confirmed.
