In the paper the new method is described and results of chosen experiments are presented. The sample strength, measured by the new method, is for some cases even three or more times greater than the strength measured in accordance with standard. Nevertheless this method is connected with uneven stress distribution and so the results are better but not perfect. Experiment proved that there is the direct proportionality of the strength on the diameter of yarns and warp/weft sett (numbers of interacting fibers). The highest strength was observed in the direction of warp, the in the direction of weft and finally in the angle of 45°. Elongation of fabric was biggest in the direction of 45° and then it was progressively decreasing to the elongation in the direction of warp/weft, where the elongation is limited by the length of warp and weft threads.
