The article is presenting an effective method of measuring the anisotropy of bending rigidity and also an innovative method of measuring the drape ability of the fabric. The effective method of measuring the anisotropy of bending rigidity and also an innovative method of measuring the drape of the fabric is presented in the article. The experiments were carried out on the following materials: cotton, wool, polyester/wool. The set of fabrics included the following weaves: plain and twill weaves. First, the values of bending stiffness in different directions of rotation (15 °) were measured on a set of fabrics. For the experiment, we chose fabrics which represent various shapes of the anisotropy of bending stiffness plotted in a polar diagram (circle, ellipse, and starfish). The aim was to find dependency between these shapes of the anisotropy of bending rigidity and the drape behaviour of the fabric, or the drape shapes.
