MECHANICS OF HYBRID TEXTILE STRUCTURAL COMPOSITES UNDER TENSILE LOAD
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
In present work, the mechanics of hybrid textile structural composites under tensile load are studied. At initial stage, the three different textile structures (i.e. woven, nonwoven and knitted) of similar aerial density from cotton fibers were developedusing facilities available in IIT Delhi, India. The contribution of individual structures to load bearing properties under tensile loading are studied after manually stitching these structures together in various different combinations. Later, these structures were incorporated under various combinations into soya resin to prepare biodegradable hybrid textile structural composites. The performance of prepared composites were evaluated for tensile properties. Furthermore, the role of individual structure was investigated for improvement in load bearing capacity of tensile properties. The results revealed substantial improvement in mechanical properties of hybrid composites when different structures are combined as compared to regular com
