Effect of Weaving Friction on the Hairiness and Mechanical Properties of Cotton Warp
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Warp yarns suffer various weaving frictions during weaving process, including friction between warps and frictions from the reed, the heddle and the dropper, which pose end breakage and finally lead to low productivity, high energy consumption and poor fabric qualities. In order to investigate the effect of various weaving friction on cotton warp, four groups of cotton warps with different structures were employed on the loom to withstand selected weaving frictions. The obtained samples were characterized in terms of surface morphology, hairiness index and mechanical properties. It was shown that the performance of the treated warp depends on both weaving friction and warp structure. For threads and sized yarns, the slight deterioration in warp structure and mechanical properties mainly attribute to the friction from the reed and friction between warps. The friction from dropper plays a key role in the increment of long hairiness. For size-free yarns, weaving friction especially from t
