Název v původním jazyce
Properties of basalt fibres suitable in concrete composites
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
High performance filaments are frequently used as the reinforcement of the composites, such as carbon fibers, glass fibers and ceramic fibers. Fibers in the composites are known to confer strength and rigidity to the weak matrix. Most of the external load is undertaken by the reinforcement filaments when the materials are in service. In present times, the use of composite structures is becoming more and more important and their employment can be planned for lightweight structures. Different types of composite materials have recently been introduced and studied, in different scales from macro to nano composites. Considering long fiber reinforced composites, together with the more diffused glass and carbon fiber, other kinds of reinforcements have been introduced and discussed in the literature, such as aramid, ceramic, and polyamide, but also natural fibers as flax, hemp or sisal. The current book is the THIRD in a series of manuscripts under “PROGRESS IN FIBROUS MATERIAL SCIENCE”. These books are collection of chapters dealing with state of the art technologies and the science of polymeric materials in specific.
