The basic mission and aim of the summer school of fabric patterning is to clarify the process of the production of woven as well as knitted fabric, from the initial idea connected to the application of fabric to its final production using two main textile technologies: weaving and knitting. The fourth summer school of patterning in 2021 was divided into a knitting part and a weaving part. As part of weaving, the summer school was in the spirit of structures and constructions using polyester materials. Using remote access, participants worked on CAD systems where could prepare data for weaving and knitting. Subsequently, a demonstration of the production of the resulting woven and knitted structures was realised using on-line transmission. The summer school in 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19.
