Positive impacts of plasma treatment on comfort properties of textile blends
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Using plasma technology for textile materials treatment allows surface modification (surface etching and activation, cross-linking, and chain scission) without altering bulk properties. This technology is environmentally friendly and simple to use. Numerous plasma methods are being used with different gases to modify the textile material accordingly. By using certain combinations of gas, plasma treatment increases wettability and changes functional properties. This study aims to report on the advancement of plasma technology in the surface treatment of textiles regarding comfort, how it affects functionalities, and how it can be used to characterize materials that have been plasma-treated. Comfort properties of textile-blended fabric like physiological comfort and sensorial comfort have been discussed by the impact of plasma treatment. It was found that the positive impact of plasma treatment is significantly implied by the hydrophilicity, better wicking, and dyeability. Higher thermal resistance and water vapor permeability are also responsible for better comfort properties.
