This presented study focuses mainly on the analysis of discus throw at release phase at elite discus throwers and at the olympic winner in decathlon. Based on our evaluation, we assigned as a main determinant of the power the velocity at release. The optimal height of release is 90% of total body height and trunk angle is getting more reclined than at the Olympic Games in the past. We did not find the correlation between the position of the feet and thrown distance. In our next studies we would like toaim on the position of feet before the release to find out the individual differences among elite discus throwers.
