The book presents the main trends, figures, and works of Czech photography from the beginning to the end of the 20th Century to a large extend. Its 394 pages with 517 plates include not only the most important, well known photographs and photomontages, but also works that have long been forgotten or published for the first time. The book is arranged in seventeen chapters, supplemented with chronologies of the most important events in the twentieth-century Czech photography. The book was awarded the mainprize The best photography book published in Central and East Europe in 2009 and 2010 at the 20th Month of Photography in Bratislava.
