Der Beitrag setzt sich zum Ziel, die einzelnen Schritte der Arbeit mit gestaffelten (Teil-)-Korpora vorzustellen und konkret anhand der Untersuchung der syntaktischen Eigenschaften unterschiedlicher Typen von aus dem Partizip II entstandenen Partizipialformen ihre Vorteile zu zeigen. Im ersten Schritt wird das Korpus DeuCze, das zu den sog. „kleinen Korpora“ gezählt wird, vorgestellt; dabei werden interessante, gebräuchliche, aber auch einmalige Belege präsentiert. Anschließend wird untersucht, in welchen syntaktischen Rollen diese Partizipialformen im „großen Korpus“ DeReKo des Instituts für Deutsche Sprache auftreten. Die Untersuchung geht von zahlreichen Korpusbelegen aus, die es ermöglichen, eine systematische, vollständige und detaillierte Darstellung verschiedener Verwendungsweisen des deutschen Partizips vorzustellen und zu diskutieren.

This paper aims to present the individual steps for working with “pyramidal corpora“ and to demonstrate the advantages of such work on an analysis of the syntactic qualities of various types of participles. The first step constitutes a presentation of the DeuCze corpus, which is classified as a “small corpus“. Interesting, frequent as well as rare forms are presented. Next, various syntactic roles of selected participles are analyzed in DeReKo, a “large corpus“ created by the Institute of German Language. The reserach is based on numerous corpus findings which allow for a systematic and detailed study of German participles in authentic texts.
