The paper characterizes groups of estate elevated people of Opavian burgher origin in the 16th and 17th century. It draws attention to the intellectually outstanding networks of estate elevated persons, as well as the coherence of the risk taking business people among the members of the elites of Opavian origin, in particular in earlier times; it emphasizes the existence of similar public and private networks of families shaped in the exceptional historical stages during the Thirty Years’ War and in its aftermath.
