In this study is described linkage between GDP indicator at NUTS II level and inhabitancy. It is searched for economic impact of agglomeration around cities. Firstly, examination whether there exist a linkage between the economic success of best EU regions at NUTS II in 2008 (Eurostat foundings in 2011) in which mostly figure capital cities that have been removed from the surrounded area (plus the cities of Hamburg and Milan. For selected cities are gained data of its agglomeration, inhabitancy in the region and the relative GDP of the region (primarily at level of NUTS II). Notwithstanding that Prague is pulled from Central Bohemia region due to its density of population it can be compared with the cities of Brno, Ostrava and Liberec.
