Determinants of Corruption: A Dynamic Panel Data Analysis
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Unfortunately, corruption has become almost a mundane matter of everyday life to such an extent that learning about it, e.g. from the media reporting on corruption cases, comes as no surprise. As a result, people are starting to be oblivious to this phenomenon, as to something which can be naturally expected. The harmfulness of corruption is dealt with in a number of studies, whether in sociological research papers or analyses aimed at demonstrating the negative impact of corruption on macroeconomic variables. But what are the causes of corruption and its proliferation? In general we can say that institutional environment plays an important role in this area. This paper aims to use dynamic panel regression model to demonstrate the influence of selecteddeterminants illustrating mainly institutional environment on the perception of corruption. Compared to previous analyses, there is a significant difference in that time lag in the effect of individual determinants was taken into account
