Competitiveness of Visegrad Four NUTS 2 Regions Evaluated by the Analytic Hierarchy Process and the Hybrid Eigenvalue-Fuzzy Cognitive Map Approach
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
We live in world of everyday competition. We have to determine winners and losers constantly. The aim of this paper is to determine the competitiveness ranking of NUTS 2 regions in Visegrad four countries based on expert estimations and using analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and hybrid eigenvalue-fuzzy cognitive map approach (HEFCM). Regions are compared by macroeconomic indicators as follows: employment rate (ER), gross domestic product (GDP), gross fixed capital formation (GFCF), knowledge intensive services (KIS), net disposable income (NDI) and patents (PAT). In this paper we work with data of the closed programming period of years 2000 - 2006. Two multicriteria decision making methods are applied to rank regions with regard to their ability to compete. The first one is the analytic hierarchy process which structures the problem in hierarchy and uses pairwise comparisons. The second one is hybrid eigenvalue-fuzzy cognitive map approach derived from analytic network process and cogn
