The aim is to disseminate and discuss newest developments in Riemannian geometry and generalizations, geometric structures, global analysis, variational analysis, geometric methods in physics, geometric theory of nonlinear partial differential equations,and related areas. This will be the eighth meeting in a series organized by Czech universities every three years since 1980, and the second to be held in Opava (after 1992). A meeting of the Editorial Board of the journal Differential Geometry and its Applications will take place during the conference.
