The aim of this paper is to discuss the solution of the differential equation dx(s)/ds=F[x(s). A numerical method for solving this equation is the Runge-Kutta method. J. Butcher defined sums over trees which form another type of algorithms solving our differential equation. We construct B-series in two particular cases and show that Runge-Kutta methods and B-series indeed yield the same result.
