Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The Institute of International Relations Prague together with the Embassy of Sweden in Prague and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic organised workshop titled „Implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda“ on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of adopting the acclaimed United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security (UNSCR 1325), which recognizes the need to include and empower women in peace processes and post-conflict development. Sweden has had years of experiences with the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda, being one of the first countries to adopt the National Action Plan on UNSCR 1325. The Czech Republic is also one of the 72 countries which committed to the implementation of UNSCR 1325 through a National Action Plan. Despite the fact, that action plans have become an important tool of this international policy framework, they have not guaranteed an effective implementation of the resolution in regard to transformative change on the ground. This Czech-Swedish workshop brought together policy makers, society representatives and academics to exchange ideas and discuss experiences with the implementation of the UNSCR 1325.
