Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Big crises bring about big changes. We therefore attribute watersheds to wars, revolutions, invasions, and also epidemics. Will the Covid-19 epidemic be such a watershed? We do not know yet. It has hit most countries around the world hard, but so far there is no indication that its impact is comparable to the consequences of wars, revolutions or plague. Nevertheless, their effects are there and will continue to be so. Let us try to identify them. We will start by clarifying how crises shape further developments. Their effects can be boiled down to two: lessons learned and coercion. Next, we will show that the most significant effects today can be absorbed within the common denominator of the crisis of the liberal state, which the pandemic did not cause, but certainly intensified. Finally, the question arises as to how this crisis will affect the future of Europe.
