Women and Financial Equality : Rewriting the Rules
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This chapter investigates financial equality and financial literacy to identify a new narrative that empowers girls and women to participate in the financial economy. Without a new narrative, it will be hard to accelerate the path towards economic gender equality and to influence gendered structures that embrace the distributions of economic resources, such as earning, negotiating and investing. After a preliminary overview of the theoretical and legal framework of financial equality, the chapter illustrates the new narrative that is needed to achieve financial inclusion and the barriers that women are still facing in the financial sector. The Chapter advocates the need to strengthen financial education, starting from the younger generations, as a powerful tool to achieve financial equality.
