Czech Cybersecurity: Challenges and Paths Forward
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Public and private entities increasingly depend on major tech companies and providers of hardware and software, many of which hold quasi-monopolistic positions. The second workshop of the TECH.RISK project, supported by the Security Research programme of the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic, convened stakeholders from diverse sectors, including public and private domains as well as academia to exchange perspectives on these challenges. In addition to participants from Czechia, cybersecurity experts from other EU member states were invited, benefiting from the international network established through the project held by the Institute of International Relations Prague. The workshop focused on three main areas. First, it aimed to discuss a more comprehensive conceptualization of cybersecurity, particularly regarding the understanding of risks and threats. Second, it examined the dynamic between public and private actors, focusing on balancing regulation with collaboration. Finally, it discussed Czechia’s role within the broader European cybersecurity landscape. The discussion was held under the Chatham House rule and took a hybrid form.
