Europe as a Task focuses on addressing key European challenges from a global perspective and enriching discussions on the EU within the Czech context. Recognising the need for a platform to foster a meaningful dialogue on European affairs, it brings expertise, research, and fresh perspectives to the conversation. The first edition of the conference, held under the theme Pursuing prosperity in a shifting world, focused on core challenges in European politics, such as Europe’s geopolitical influence, security, trade policy and competitiveness. Through high-level dialogue, the conference aimed to generate actionable insights for a stronger, more resilient Europe and foster and enrich pro-European thinking in Central Europe. The topics included: Competitiveness of the European Economy; Economic Security and the EU as a Geopolitical Player; Support for Ukraine and the Security Situation in Europe. The conference was organised by the Institute of International Relations Prague, AMO – Association for International Affairs and Institute for European Policy EUROPEUM in cooperation with the Office of the President of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic, Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung, the Government Office of the Czech Republic, and the International Visegrad Fund.
