Presentation wich was presented at the conference Nutrient Removal and Recovery 2012: Trends in NRR in China. Abstract: The recovery and reuse of valuable resources from grey and laundry wastewater cover wide scale of different technologies ? applicationof heat exchangers and/or heat pumps, phosphorus removal and/or recycling and final water polishing for the reuse scenario. Heat recovery is carried out on exhaust pipes of greywater. Drain pipes from showers, basins, sinks, dishwashers and washing machines are wrapped with a heat exchanger connected with boilers as preliminary stage. Once the residual heat from wastewater is separated and phosphorus removed for recycling, wastewater can be treated for reuse scenario. Laundry wastewater and greywater offer challenge to multidisciplinary approach for water reuse, phosphorus recycling and energy recovery. Our manuscript summarizes the borders of full-scale applications from holistic point of view.
