Diffusion coef?cient : measurement apparatus and achieved results
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Materials used in civil engineering for room acoustic treatment are often characterized with practical or weighted absorption coefficient which refers to material's ability to absorb sound energy. Another important property of acoustic materials is the amount of scattering of incident sound. Research in terms of expression, simulation and measurement of scattering sound on diffuse structures is a topical issue nowadays (2012). Based on the results of foreign research groups (ie University of Salford, prof. Trevor Cox) the research team of SONING Praha had assembled a measurement chain to determine the scattering of acoustic energy reflected from a sample surface under test. A software tool to process acquired data was also developed. The results are expressed in the form of polar plots as well as the frequency function of diffusion coefficient. Details on the measurement chain assembly and SW data processing tool development are briefly stated in the paper. The process of actual measurement is described and achieved results are discussed. Works on the improvement of measurement apparatus and SW tool for effective interior acoustic diffuser design are in progress at present.
