Electric power system inertia increasing by flywheels
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The basic problem of all power grids and thus the electric power grid, which is defined by the system function, is to ensure the energy supply of the appliances in the required quantity, at the real time and with the specified quality. Any disturbance of the power balance in the continuous supply, between the appliance and the source leads to a frequency change in the AC power network. The imbalance must be topped up on the power or consume side, with the primary objective of the system not to restrict consumption except for its directing. Consequently the imbalance is governed by the static frequency characteristics of the generators. As a result of the increasing number of power sources connected to the AC network via inverters, system inertia and the value of the possible regulation power are decreasing. Preventing this unwanted phenomenon can be made by creating of the artificial inertia using nonrotating sources - accumulators. This paper deals with the evaluation of the use of rotary flywheels for the purpose of increasing inertia and frequency regulation power in the transmission network.
